Safecon by WISTRA safeguards silo containers

Novel, modular load unit securing system - Safe transport of Octabin containers - Loading and unloading without planning - Antislip mats for increasing the friction coefficient not required - Certified by DEKRA Automobil GmbH. Selmsdorf, 2 September 2009 - WISTRA GmbH, which is a specialist in load securing systems, has introduced a novel load unit securing system under the name “Safecon” for transporting silo containers. “Safecon” allows quick loading and unloading without time-consuming additional planning..

The solution has a modular design and comprises a basic module and product-specific additional modules. The basic module contains longitudinal bars and decking beams. It functions independent of load units and can be retrofitted for any vehicle. This system enables a quick and safe positive-fit load securing and is much superior to conventional “terminal boards” as far as load-bearing capacity and function are concerned. The additional module comprises a lashing strap system and is especially suitable for securing the so-called Octabin-IBC containers made of corrugated cardboard onto CP3 wooden flat pallets.

The vehicle need not be planned when loading on the head ramp. All precautionary and safety measures can be easily and quickly executed from the safe vehicle base. Moreover, this securing method does not need anti-slip mats for increasing the friction coefficient. In addition to IBC containers such as Octabin, Octatainer, Palmtainer, other container types such as barrels, mesh pallets, Big Bags or bagged goods can be safeguarded efficiently and quickly. “Safecon” has already been tested by DEKRA Automobil GmbH in a dynamic drive test and it fulfils all requirements for a safe transport even for non-certified vehicle bodies.

In Selmsdorf near Lübeck, WISTRA GmbH manufactures and handles the entire range of load securing systems. These include lashing straps, safety nets, lashing tracks, shoring beams, decking beams, cargo bars and the seal range or anti-slip mats. Under the product name “Powerbrace”, WISTRA also manufactures rotating bar locks for containers, box and boot bodies as well as swap bodies.
