Cargo control / 25 years of WISTRA / One million lashing straps for anniversary

25 years of WISTRA

• Investment in product- and delivery quality
• Expansion of production site in Selmsdorf, Northern Germany
• More capacity for individual customer demands

Selmsdorf, March 8, 2013 – WISTRA GmbH Cargo Control, specialist for the production of cargo control systems can look back at 25 years of company history this year and continues to invest in product- and delivery quality in this anniversary year. A new automatic sewing device for the headquarter in Selmsdorf raises the production capacity for lashing straps, strengthens the production site in Germany and helps to increase the flexibility of production.

Last year Wistra already produced and sold one million lashing straps. The family-owned enterprise creates more production capacity for customized products by the increase of automation for the standard range of products like Safeguard load securing nets, lashing straps with barcode and customer logo or shoring beams with engraved serial numbering and customer name as anti-theft protection.

In 1988 Wistra was founded in Lübeck by Peter Wiskow – who is still shareholder of the company. Due to success and growth of the business the production site had to move to a bigger and own estate in the nearby Selmsdorf in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern in 1990. In 2006 the next generation moved up to the management board in the person of Mark Zubel. The existing facility offered enough possibilities for several expansions and extensions in the past and also for the future, so the company is still based in the industrial area “An der Trave”.

Wistra GmbH Cargo Control produces and trades a wide range of cargo control systems like lashing straps in various models and up to a lashing capacity LC of 10000 daN, load securing nets “Wistra safeguard” for the use in all types of vehicles from station wagons to big trucks, lashing tracks, shoring beams, cargo bars and parting wall locks. Wistra’s own developments like GTS-beverage securing, the SAFECON load securing system for IBC containers and the innovative Quick-View Labels are Wistra’s USPs. Other load securing devices like edge protection and anti-slip mats complete the range of products. Beyond that Wistra still successfully produces the Powerbrace door gears for containers they started their business with back in 1988.
